Ok, ladies, it’s 12:51 AM, and here I am, up reading my Bible. This is a first—some sort of midnight RendeJESUS (see what I did there?). I guess these blogs have turned into my personal journey entries, haven’t they? But tonight, I came across something in Luke 5 that I just couldn’t keep to myself.
You know the story about Simon Peter, right? He’s been fishing all night, caught nothing, and is sitting there washing his nets—probably tired, frustrated, and ready to call it a day. Then Jesus steps into his boat. After teaching the crowd, He turns to Peter and says, “Go out deeper and let down your nets again.”
What grabbed my attention this time wasn’t just Peter’s obedience—it was the word: again.
Peter had been at it all night. He had already put in the effort, done the work, and seen absolutely nothing for it. By every measure, he had a reason to give up. But when Jesus told him to go back out, he chose to trust Him. “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.”
And what happened? Overflow. The nets were so full they started breaking. Peter had to call for backup just to haul in the catch.
That word, again, hit me. How often do we find ourselves in Peter’s place—frustrated, exhausted, ready to quit because it feels like nothing is working? And then Jesus whispers, “Go deeper. Try again.”
It’s not easy, is it? That moment of trust when you’ve already done everything you can think of. When you feel like you’ve reached the end of your strength. But that’s where the beauty is. Peter’s blessing didn’t come from trying harder; it came from trusting Jesus.
What’s your “again”? Maybe it’s a prayer you’ve been lifting up for years. Maybe it’s a dream that feels out of reach. Maybe it’s something you’ve poured your heart into, but it feels like nothing is happening.
Whatever it is, Jesus may be asking you to go deeper, to trust Him, and to let down your nets again—not because of what you can do, but because of who He is.
Ladies, let’s take a page from Peter’s story. Let’s be willing to say, “Lord, I’ve already tried, but if You say so, I’ll try again.”

This was so timely and really needed to hear this encouragement! Thank you for your obedience!
