Faithfulness: A Whole New Perspective

Well, ladies, let’s gather ‘round for a moment of honesty. You ever have a word you thought you understood, only to realize later, “Oh, maybe I didn’t have the whole picture”? Or maybe God steps in and gives you a fresh perspective—one of those quiet nudges that makes you rethink everything. Today, that word is faithfulness. It seems so simple, yet as I’m learning, it goes much deeper than I ever imagined.

Let’s start with the world’s view of faithfulness. Usually, we think of it as loyalty, dependability, sticking with someone no matter what. It’s the friend who shows up when it counts, the spouse who keeps their vows, the loved one who stays steady. And those are beautiful, meaningful things! But in God’s hands, faithfulness is so much more than showing up or being reliable—it’s about a complete surrender.

For God, faithfulness isn’t just “sticking around” when it’s easy or convenient. It’s about an unwavering commitment that goes beyond what we can see. It’s trusting Him through every uncertainty, choosing to love when it’s hard, forgiving when it doesn’t come naturally, and clinging to hope when every part of us feels worn out. It’s not about doing the right thing because it’s easy; it’s about remaining rooted in Him, no matter what.

And here’s where it hits close to home: faithfulness, in God’s eyes, isn’t about perfection. (Thank goodness!) It’s about persistence. It’s the choice to keep going, to keep showing up, to stay grounded in Him even when it feels like we’re running on empty. It’s that quiet “yes” when He calls, that steady “I trust You” whispered in the silence.

Then comes the hard part—letting go of our own desires, even the ones we’re sure would bring us happiness, to make room for His will. There’s a reason this is tough, isn’t there? We have dreams, plans, things we’ve held onto, believing they’ll bring us joy. Yet God calls us to a faithfulness that says, “Not my will, Lord, but Yours.” It’s a surrender that goes beyond feelings, beyond circumstances, into trusting that His plans are better, even when we can’t see the whole picture.

So here I am, learning that faithfulness is about surrender—every part, not just the parts I’m comfortable with. Ladies, I challenge you to take a moment and ask yourself: Are we seeing faithfulness through the world’s eyes, or are we willing to let God shape it in His way? Are we ready to let go of our expectations, our need for control, and walk in a faithfulness anchored in who He is?

Let’s be faithful not because it’s easy but because we know who God is. Let’s walk in a faithfulness that holds us steady, that transforms us from the inside out, and that leads us closer to becoming the women He’s called us to be.
